The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) has asked the Federal Government to explore all options to free the geologists abducted by Boko Haram terrorist in Borno State.
The president of the society, Professor Silas Dada wants the Federal Government to negotiate with the terrorists, just like its doing for the missing Chibok girls.
He said out of the nine members of staff of the University of Maiduguri involved in the attack, five of them are geologists, two have been killed, two abducted and one still missing.

The men, working with the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) were seized on July 25 in an ambush near Jibi village in Borno State, North-East Nigeria.
They were contracted by the NNPC to work on oil exploration in nearby Lake Chad and returning from the Magumeri area when they ran into the ambush.
Security operatives and some members of the civilian JTF escorting the researchers, numbering up to 30, were also reported to have fallen into the trap of the terrorists.
