A year on from making the three-man shortlist for last year’s Best FIFA Men’s Coach award, Zinedine Zidane is a serious contender for the accolade.

FIFA announced its shortlist for the award today (August 17), with 12 coaches in the running.

Germany’s national coach Joachim Loew is on the shortlist for his success in leading his side to a FIFA Confederations Cup victory for the first time.

Brazil’s head coach Tite is also on the list after he guided the team to the 2018 World Cup finals, the first team to qualify.

Other coaches to have made it on the shortlist are Massimiliano Allegri, Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola, Leonardo Jardim, Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino and Diego Simeone.

The public now has the chance to vote for the final three nominees with the result announced at a ceremony in London on October 23.

Nominees for the award were selected by a panel of FIFA legends and the public has the chance to vote for the final three nominees from Monday, August 21, to September 7. The result will be announced at a ceremony in London on October 23.
