The Federal Government has declared Friday as a public holiday for the Eid-El-Maulud celebrations.

This was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji, on Wednesday.

The statement quoted the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd), as urging the Muslim faithful and Nigerians to pray for the peace, progress, and unity of the nation.

“The minister wishes Nigerians a happy Eid-El-Maulud celebration,” the statement added.
