The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Imohinmi Edgal, has assured Lagosians that he will not rest until the perpetuators of the killings in Badoo are brought to justice.

He made the promise during a press briefing on Thursday, during which he gave details of the arrest of a suspected Badoo cult leader and the group’s chief herbalist on Tuesday.

Explaining how they carry out operations, Imohimi revealed that the cultists, on entering the victims homes, usually spray a substance on them which causes them to fall into a deep sleep.

Afterwards, the cultists smash their victims’ heads with a grinding stone and clean off their blood with a white handkerchief which is subsequently used for rituals, according to the CP.

The dreaded Badoo cult unleashed terror in Ikorodu and its environs in 2017, killing several residents in gruesome ways.

Imohimi, however, believes their days of unleashing terror on law-abiding citizens are over.

“Over the weekend, we had far-reaching achievement in the fight against the killers popularly known as Badoo in Ikorodu,” Imohimi said on Tuesday.

He, however, stressed that while the head of the group has been arrested, he will not rest until the other criminals are brought to justice.
