A woman and her two grandchildren were crushed to death on Sunday after a truck rammed into a roadside market in Ondo State.
The accident, which claimed the lives of two other persons, occurred in Akungba-Akoko, the university town in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of the state.
An eyewitness said that the truck – which was believed to be coming from Ikare-Akoko – purportedly lost control while its driver was trying to avoid a car near the market.
He added several traders and passersby who were severely injured in the accident have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The witness also said officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police were already at the scene to restore normalcy to the area.
