Talented Nigerian Singer, Waje, has shared some of her experience joggling between single motherhood and her career.

In an interview on Channels Television’s Rubbin Minds, Sunday, she admitted that although being a single mother comes with its own challenges, “it doesn’t make you any less of a mother”.

Speaking of her career and one of her recent projects which she calls the ‘Waje Safe House’, the mother of one explained that she hopes to expand during the year by collaborating with more brands.

The project focusses on helping NGOs promote their causes.

On music, Waje who recently collaborated with Yemi Alade on the song ‘I’m Available’, described it as a very fun and fulfilling project. She also hopes to work with more female artistes.

Speaking of how her brand is perceived outside Nigeria, the artiste explained that it doesn’t matter if people don’t know her song, rather she believes that the craft will always speak for itself.

“The best part of working anywhere else outside Nigeria is you stand there and it’s just your vocals and your craftsmanship that is there to entice people and they are like who is that lady? That’s what has been working for me,” she said.

Waje also revealed that she and her fellow artiste, Omawumi who co-own a media company, have produced a film and hope to explore more of the movie industry in the days ahead.
