President Muhammadu Buhari has been briefed by Governors of the 36 states on ways to tackle security challenges across the country.

The meeting which had all the state governors and service chiefs held at the council chamber on Friday.

According to the chairman of Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi, the meeting is at the instance of the Governors to keep President Buhari abreast of the decisions taken on the security challenges across the federation.

He revealed that the issues of insurgency, banditry, Kidnapping were discussed, with a resolve that the acts should be dealt with comprehensively.

Fayemi also explained that the Governors are yet to take a position on the issue of state police because some states have expressed interest while others have not.
