The former Speaker of the House of Assembly Speaker, Abdulaziz Gafasa, and 13 other APC lawmakers are on the verge of defecting to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) in the state.
The defection comes shortly after the former Speaker voluntarily resigned from his position as Speaker on Monday.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had allegedly worked out a plan for the removal of the former speaker, accusing him of having meetings with PDP members, compelled him to hurriedly write a resignation letter late on Monday night which was read on the floor of the house on Tuesday.
Although the Former speaker is yet to make a public announcement regarding his intention to defect from APC, sources close to Mr. Gafasa told Channels Television that the former Speaker and 13 others are making consultations.
