Ikpeazu Approves Promotion Of Abia Civil Servants

The governor also directed that the contentious Annual Leave Allowances for the workers of the State civil service be paid within the next seven days.

Ahead of the March 18 governorship election, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has approved the promotion of civil servants in the state.

The governor also directed that the contentious Annual Leave Allowances for the workers of the state civil service be paid within the next seven days.

Speaking with the civil servants at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia on Thursday, Ikpeazu appealed to them to vote massively for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Okey Ahiwe.

Ikpeazu assured that Ahiwe would sustain his achievements and implement the welfare packages of the civil servants as well as perform better than himself.

According to the governor, the March 18 poll is as important as the lives of the people of Abia hence it should be taken very seriously. He said that if any worker votes for the wrong person, he will have gambled with his job and the future of his family.

While appreciating the great support received from the workers since 2015 attributed, he said their cooperation made him have awards for Ease of Doing Business, SME capital of the Nigeria among others to the efforts of the civil servants.

On his part, the PDP governorship candidate assured that the promotion approved by the governor would be fully sustained while other welfare packages would be taken care of adequately when he assumes office.

He pledged to serve Abia diligently just as he served as Chief of Staff and promised to make training and retraining of workers his watch word while pledging to sustain and improve on the achievements of the present administration.
