Nigerian comedian Woli Arole is set to lead a 5,000 pray-a-thon and is targeting the Guinness World Records.
“PRAY – A – THON…….5000 hours……It is doable….Anticipate…..Guinness Book of Records,” he wrote in an Instagram post, tagging the Guinness World Records, some clerics among others.
But it is unclear if he is pulling a stunt.
His decision comes in the wake of attempts by some Nigerians to break and set new world records.
Earlier, chef Hilda Baci finished a yet-to-be-confirmed 120-hour cook-a-thon which drew global attention.
Weeks after her exploits, an Ekiti-based chef Damilola Adeparusi is currently aiming to break Hilda’s records.
Beyond Setting Record
But in a follow-up post on Monday, Woli said his decision to embark on the pray-a-thon, is not for fame.
“This is beyond setting a RECORD. This is to stir the heart of MEN to PRAY… We PRAY until something Happens. We are SET!” the 33-year-old wrote.
But days after he made the announcement, the comedian made a U-turn, saying it was a “cruise”.
