The Kogi State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) says it is ready to embark on an indefinite strike over the non-release of an abducted member, Dr Austin Uwumagbe.
The state NMA chairman, Dr Baoku Olusola, who spoke to journalists in Lokoja on Friday, directed their demand towards Governor Yahaya Bello; the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; and other heads of security agencies.
Olusola asked the authorities to secure the unconditional release of Uwumagbe, who was kidnapped last week to prevent the doctors from downing tools in the state.
