Police Bust Suspected Internet Fraudsters’ Hideout, Arrest 10 Suspects

The suspects confessed to being into internet fraud popularly known as Yahoo Plus, and “will be charged to court for prosecution once the investigation is concluded”.

The police said it had bust hideout of suspected internet fraudsters and arrested 10 suspects in Nasarawa State.

A press release signed by the Public Relations Officer, Nasarawa State Command, DSP Ramhan Nansel on Thursday, said the criminals were sniffed out when Police operatives attached to Angwan Lambu Division raided the hideout of the cybercriminals located in Government Reserved Area, Keffi.

During the operation, while 10 suspects were arrested; two laptops, 10 sophisticated mobile phones of different brands, three WIFI routers, criminal charms, black soap, hard drugs (Loud weed and dried leaves suspected to be marijuana), and other items were seized.

The suspects, according to the statement, have confessed to being into internet fraud popularly known as Yahoo Plus, and “will be charged to court for prosecution once the investigation is concluded”.

The commissioner of police, Umar Shehu Nadada, commended the officers for a job well done and urged them to sustain raids on all criminal hideouts.
