NAAT To Begin Three-Day Warning Strike Next Week

The National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) has declared a three-day warning strike starting on Wednesday, March 28 to drive home their demands.

NAAT made the decision after its national emergency meeting at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan on Wednesday.

The union president Ibeji Nwokoma noted that despite the Federal Government’s approval of the payment of their salaries members are yet to be paid.

Nwokoma said several engagements with the management of universities across the country have not yielded an appreciable result thus the move to go on strike.

Some of the union’s agitations include the non-implementation of approved career elongation grade levels 13 to 14 and 15 as agreed with the Federal Government.

The union noted that despite the Federal Government’s approval for promotion, some of their members have been on the same grade level for over 10 years because university management refused to implement the agreement with NAAT.
