VIDEO: FG Re-aligns Coastal Highway Project To Protect Submarine Cables 

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this in Lagos at the 3rd stakeholders meeting of the coastal highway project on Thursday.

The project will be completed in eight years, according to the Federal Government.

 

The Federal Government has jettisoned the proposed new route of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway from kilometres 16 to 25 of the 47-kilometre highway, reverting to the gazetted alignment.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, disclosed this in Lagos at the 3rd stakeholders meeting of the coastal highway project on Thursday.

During the session which featured presentations and a question and answer segment, Umahi said the realignment is to save submarine cables from being destroyed.
