ISPON Applauds Hon Etteh, Certifies 50 Youths As Safety Officers

Commendations were also given by Engr. Ndifreke Inokon, Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Safety Engineers, who urged the newly certified safety officers to be exemplary ambassadors of their community.


 

 

The National President of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Engr. Timothy Iwuagwu, has commended the youths of Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency, encouraging them to view their recent certification in the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Professional Competency Development Programme as a strategic advantage for future opportunities.

Speaking at the certification ceremony held at Royalty Hotel, Eket, Engr. Iwuagwu presented certificates to 50 young individuals who successfully completed extensive training in safety management, Fire Watch duties, and Authorized Gas Testing (AGT). The program, a collaborative effort between ISPON and the National Productivity Centre (NPC), was lauded for equipping the youths with industry-relevant skills.

The initiative was sponsored by Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, the representative of Eket/ONNA/Esit-Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency. Engr. Iwuagwu praised Hon. Etteh’s commitment to youth empowerment, promising that ISPON would continue to support the program’s graduates in further developing their competencies and enhancing their employability across both the private and public sectors.



Hon. Etteh, addressing the beneficiaries, expressed his satisfaction with the initiative’s success, noting that it directly aligned with his mission to drive sustainable development and provide meaningful opportunities for his constituents.

“This certification is part of our commitment to empowering the youth and fostering economic growth within the constituency,” Etteh stated. He emphasized the importance of safety training in today’s industrial landscape and assured the graduates that their new skills would open doors to prosperous careers.
