A driver has been confirmed dead along the Lagos/ Ibadan Expressway when his Mazda bus rammed into a moving truck around Car Park C of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, along the expressway.
The cause of the accident was attributed to overspeed and loss of control on the part of the Mazda bus driver
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State-owned Traffic Enforcement and Compliance Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta, the state capital

“the driver who was the sole occupant of the bus loaded with bags of potatoes, was alleged to have probably dozed off after which he lost control and rammed his bus into a moving truck” he said
“According to an eyewitness account, the Mazda bus was fully loaded with potatoes heading towards Lagos to deliver same before the break of dawn.
“But regrettably, the excessive speed he was driving at, while dozing, made him lose control of the bus and rammed into a moving Dangote truck from the rear. The driver of the bus died in the process having been trapped for some moment before he was removed”

While commiserating with the family of the deceased, the public relations officer admonished road users to avoid night travel and shun excessive speed because of its attendant fatal consequences.
