The 2024/25 Premier League season has not disappointed, with stunning goals, reckless challenges, shock results, and moments of utter brilliance adorning another campaign in the best footballing league in the world.
While Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham have all been major disappointments in the league itself, we have not been short of players who have impressed.
Whether through the goals they have scored, the last-ditch tackles they have made, or their fingertip saves, players across the Premier League have been showing their world-class skills from moment one.
Sports betting sites have combined to bring together five players who have impressed us as we hurtle towards the end of yet another stunning Premier League season.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle)
Alexander Isak has been in scintillating form in front of the goal this season, scoring 21 times for Newcastle.
His ability to net via being in the right place at the right time or by firing in a stunning solo effort has made him an invaluable part of a Newcastle side embroiled in the fight for a Champions League spot this year.
His most important goal of the season came outside of the Premier League as he netted at Wembley in mid-March in the Carabao Cup final, scoring the second goal of the game.
With Liverpool netting in the 94th minute, Isak’s goal turned out to be the winner as he helped secure Eddie Howe’s side the trophy in a 2-1 win.
Isak’s exploits in the league itself have been hugely impressive too, with his hat-trick against Ipswich back in December a particular highlight.
The Magpies look to be on the verge of a return to the Champions League, but will this be enough to keep the striker at St James’ Park?
Rumours have been rife regarding his future, and perhaps his exploits this season in helping the Magpies back into the top-four may prove to be his swansong for the club.
Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest)
Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland continue to take the plaudits as the best strikers in the English league, but Chris Wood has reminded everyone just how lethal he can be in front of goal.
A title of 18 goals in a season to remember for Nottingham Forest has seen Wood lead his side to a potential place in the Champions League next season.
The goals have dried up for Wood across the last few months, but his exploits have been incredibly impressive. This was particularly true as he scored a hat-trick in Forest’s 7-0 demolition of Brighton in February.
The 33-year-old may not get many more seasons at the top, but if he is able to help Forest clinch a place in Europe’s top competition, it would surely rank as his greatest achievement in football.
Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest)
In a league boasting Alisson, Ederson and David Raya, it can be tough for a goalkeeper to really shine. This is especially true when considering the Premier League lauds goals and attacking play. Quite often, goalkeepers are left exposed defensively with clean sheets tough to come by.
However, Nottingham Forest’s Matz Sels has been excellent this season. He currently sits on 13 clean sheets, meaning he is clear of David Raya in second with 11. Forest have conceded 38 times this season, far better than the 67 they shipped in the 2023/24 season.
Sels moved to the club in February 2024 and has been part of their astounding improvement. Forest have dragged themselves from 17th last season to top four candidates in one of the most remarkable turnarounds.
Sels ability to make big saves when it matters most may end up being the reason why Nottingham Forest finally return to European competition.
Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)

Mohamed Salah makes our list after yet another exceptional season. However, his goal scoring is something we expect to see, with 27 efforts meaning he will likely snare the top scorer award this year.
Instead, he is on our list due to the obscene 18 assists he has registered this term. Salah has always had an eye for goal, but his ability to pick a teammate out is part of the reason why he is still one of the premier attackers in world football.
Whereas some players have an eye for goal but are very selfish, while others can pick a pinpoint pass but struggle to hit the back of the net, Salah does both. When Liverpool have needed him most, he has come up with a big goal or a delicious assist, and he has managed all of this despite all of the uncertainty surrounding his contract across the majority of the season.
It is no wonder why Liverpool have offered their talisman a new contract, with the forward one of the main reasons why the Reds will win the Premier League title this season.
Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

The reason Bruno Fernandes makes our list is because of his ability to score and assist goals in a Manchester United team that seems to be doing everything in their power to lose each week.
Fernandes has scored eight league goals this season, while he has nine assists. With 17 direct goal involvements in the league, Fernandes has had a part in almost 50% of the 38 goals United have scored this season.
Manchester United have been one of the biggest disappointments in the league this year, and without Fernandes, they may be even closer to the relegation zone than they find themselves.
