Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) have formalized a strategic partnership to drive digital transformation within Nigeria’s security sector through the development and deployment of Smart Police Stations nationwide.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed at Galaxy Backbone’s headquarters in Abuja, is said to signal a major step in the implementation of the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Digital Transformation Agenda.
Authorities say it reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to build a technologically empowered, responsive, and transparent law enforcement system.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, described the collaboration as a milestone in Nigeria’s journey toward integrated digital governance. “This agreement reflects a shared vision for a smarter, more resilient, and inclusive Nigeria. Through this partnership, we are bringing cutting-edge technology into the heart of our security architecture,” he said.
Under the terms of the agreement, GBB will provide high-speed fibre connectivity, cloud computing infrastructure, and advanced ICT tools to support the rollout of Smart Police Stations. These facilities will feature real-time surveillance, digital case management systems, secure communication platforms, and artificial intelligence-driven capabilities to support efficient policing.
According to the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, the project is expected to improve incident response times, streamline information sharing, and enhance transparency across police operations. The Smart Policing initiative also promises to increase public trust in law enforcement by enabling more accountable and data-driven decision-making processes.
Professor Adeyanju further noted that the initiative aligns with Galaxy Backbone’s role as the digital backbone of government operations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in solving national challenges. “The future of governance is digitally connected, resilient, and secure. This partnership brings us closer to that reality,” he added.
The MoU supports the broader Integrated Digital Transformation Strategy (2025–2028), which seeks to expand the role of technology in national development and public service delivery.
The event was attended by top officials from both GBB and the NPTF, alongside representatives from the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. Stakeholders expressed optimism that this partnership would serve as a model for leveraging technology in addressing security challenges while enhancing the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force.
