Actress and filmmaker Regina Daniels has accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of ordering the arrest of her siblings amid their ongoing marital tension.

The 24-year-old actress made the allegations in a series of Instagram Story posts on Monday, alleging that the Delta North lawmaker was using his influence to “intimidate and punish” her family.

Regina alleged that her elder brother and sister were arrested and that her younger sister could be targeted next.

She wrote, “I never thought I would do this, but my big brother and sister have been arrested. My baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return, and according to him, return to rehab.”

The actress accused the senator of labelling her a “drug addict,” insisting that she would no longer tolerate the humiliation.

“You said I’m a drug addict. Me? I use am rub body, sir! What other name will you call me, prostitute?” she lamented.

Regina also urged the lawmaker to leave her family alone, stressing that she had moved on with her life. She further alleged that her brother was beaten during his arrest.

“Leave my family alone, Ned! It’s a shame that the beautiful legacy we built is turning into ridicule.

“Imagine the Nigerian police beating up my brother like a criminal. Ned, you have power and money, right? Wild for you to think I have none,” she wrote.

Mother Reacts

Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, broke her silence for the first time on Monday night after reports of the arrests emerged.

In a video shared on Instagram, Rita accused the 64-year-old senator of marrying her daughter for fame and public image.

She said, “You married her because you wanted a crown and a high star to boost your image. When you went for your senatorial election, Regina gave you $50,000 to support your campaign.”

Rita also claimed that she personally supported Mr Nwoko’s political ambition with her resources.

“All my resources went into your election, yet people call my daughter a gold digger. Who’s digging whose gold?” she said.

Backstory

The couple’s marital issues became public in October after Regina accused Mr Nwoko of physically assaulting her.

She announced that she was no longer willing to remain in the marriage, saying she could not endure the alleged abuse any longer.

Mr Nwoko denied the allegations and instead accused Regina of substance abuse, saying it was the root of their problems.

Amid the crisis, Regina revealed that she had acquired a new ‘mansion’ home and wanted to focus on rebuilding her life.

Following Regina’s recent outburst, the senator responded through an Instagram post, describing her actions as “drug-influenced” and “unprovoked carnage.”

He wrote, “Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol is the root of our problem.”

Mr Nwoko alleged that Regina had gone on a violent rampage, attacking three staff members and damaging property in his absence.

“She slapped and hit three staff in 48 hours and destroyed cars and windows for no reason,” he claimed.

He added that he had urged Regina to enter rehabilitation either in Asokoro or abroad to ensure her safety.

“She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety,” he wrote.

As of press time, Mr Nwoko had not publicly addressed the fresh allegations made by Regina, her mother, and siblings.

A review of his verified social media pages showed no official response beyond a post wishing Nigerians a happy new month.

Meanwhile, Regina continues to share updates on her social media pages, stating that she remains determined to protect her family and children despite the ongoing tension.

This is not the first time the couple has faced public scrutiny.  Earlier in February, actress Chika Ike denied rumours linking her pregnancy to Nwoko, calling them “false and baseless.”

The speculation grew after Regina briefly deactivated her Instagram account.

In March, Nwoko dismissed further rumours about marital discord and reaffirmed his commitment to Regina. He used the same post to flatter Regina and announce Regina’s third pregnancy.

Regina married Nwoko in 2019 at the age of 18. They have two children together.
