Global political and business leaders have converged on Owerri for the Imo State Economic Summit 2025.

The event has in attendance the President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima; the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, a former prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson; and a former Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon.

Also present are state governors, the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; and a former president of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank), Benedict Oramah, among others.

The event is expected to help strengthen investment in Imo, and Nigeria in general.
