Global political and business leaders were in Owerri for the Imo State Economic Summit 2025 on Thursday.

The event had in attendance the President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima; the President of Liberia, Joseph Boakai, a former prime minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson; and a former Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon.

Others were state governors, the Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; and a former president of the African Export–Import Bank (Afreximbank), Benedict Oramah, among others.

The event is expected to help strengthen investment in Imo, and Nigeria in general.
