Tanzanian singer Juma Jux delivered a show-stopping performance at the Detty December Fest 2025, held on Thursday night, December 18, at Ilubirin, Ikoyi, Lagos, thrilling fans with a dramatic entrance, high-end production and a celebration of love.

The concert organised by Live Spot, as part of the annual Detty December festivities that light up Lagos during the holiday season, featured an elaborate stage design, aerial dancers, live band arrangements and theatrical elements that set the tone for a memorable night.

Juma Jux made one of the most talked-about entrances of the festival, descending onto the stage suspended mid-air in a daring aerial stunt.

As the stage glowed in deep red lighting and spotlights cut through the night sky, the singer appeared to “float” above the audience before landing smoothly to roaring cheers from the crowd.

The suspense-filled opening instantly electrified the venue and set the pace for the performance that followed.

The entrance, however, did not come without nerves behind the scenes. Priscilla Ojo, Juma Jux’s wife and the concert’s director, later revealed her anxiety over the stunt, joking that she was scared because “village people used to move” at night.

She admitted being uneasy even during rehearsals and told him afterwards, “Baby, you can’t do that again.” Juma confirmed that while Priscilla directed the show, she did not approve of the aerial entrance idea.

Once on stage, Juma Jux launched into a well-paced set that blended romance, energy and polished musicianship.

Backed by a full live band comprising guitarists, drummers, keyboardists and backup singers, he performed fan favourites including Do I and God Design.

The stage design featured red velvet-style backdrops, chandeliers, sofas and LED screens displaying pink curtains and abstract visuals, creating an intimate lounge atmosphere despite the large crowd.

Dressed in a white tank top and patterned trousers, Juma moved confidently across the stage, dancing, engaging the band, and frequently interacting with fans, many of whom recorded the moment on their phones.

At several points, he dedicated songs to Priscilla and her family, drawing loud cheers and emotional reactions from the audience as his love-themed lyrics resonated across the venue.

The emotional peak of the night came when Juma invited Priscilla on stage mid-performance. Pausing the music, he said, “Why she? Please can you bring my wife here, please? Baby, I wanna see you. Come and say hi to my people.”

As Priscilla walked out to applause, Juma introduced her warmly, saying, “You see them? She’s the love of my life. I love her so much.”

The couple shared an intimate moment on stage, embracing and swaying gently as the band played on. Priscilla briefly addressed the crowd, reciprocating his affection and sending fans into another wave of cheers.

Visibly emotional, Juma held her close before she exited the stage, leaving the audience buzzing.

Throughout the night, aerial performers appeared intermittently, adding a theatrical flair to the show, while lighting effects shifted from deep reds to vibrant multi-coloured displays during musical highs.

The venue remained packed, with fans singing along and soaking in the festive Detty December atmosphere.

Other celebrities who showed up for the event included filmmaker Toyin Abrahm, Chef Hilda Baci, Actress Iyabo Ojo, Singer Qing Madi, Phyno, Broda Shaggi, Influencer Eniola Adeoluwa, and many more.

By the following day, social media was flooded with videos and photos from the show, with fans describing the performance as romantic, electrifying and unforgettable.
