Three Injured As Building Collapses In Ondo

The site had been sealed off, pending investigation.


 

Three construction workers have been injured as a building under construction, collapsed in Akure, Ondo State.

The workers were said to be busy when the building located beside the former All Progressives Congress (APC) State Secretariat along Oba Adesida Road collapsed.

Three of them were injured in the incident that happened at about 4pm on Tuesday, while one escaped unhurt.

Those who sustained injury were rushed to the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) where they are responding to treatment.

Ondo

One of the supervisors on the project, Opeyemi Adeyemo, attributed the collapse to human error.

Meanwhile, the Ondo State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Sunday Olajide, said the site had been sealed off, pending investigation.

Olajide noted that government will determine the immediate and remote causes of the collapse.
