Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr Gambo Jimeta has described the alleged misappropriation of funds in the police pension scheme as a monumental fraud.

Answering questions  from journalists after a closed door meeting of retired IGPs and the current police chief , Mr Jimeta noted that  the fraud in the Police Pension scheme emanated not more than a decade ago when the management police pension were handed over to corrupt individuals.

He advised the government to ensure that all those found wanting  of stealing from officers who have laid down their lives for their country are brought to book appropriately.

Leading the delegation of the IGPs was the Police boss, Mr Muhammed Dikko Yusuf, who served from 1975 to 1979.

Others are Sunday Adewusi, Gambo Jimeta, Aliyuattah Ibrahim Commasi , Musiliu Smith, Tafa Balogun, Sunday Ehindero, and Mike Okiro.

This is the first time former IGPs have come together for such a meeting.
