The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed details of cash and properties that have so far been traced to a former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke.

In a strongly worded article by two officers of the EFCC’s Public Affairs Directorate – Tony Orilade and Aishah Gambari, the former minister was accused of looting the nation’s treasury and acquiring properties running into millions of dollars.

According to the article, N47.2 Billion and $487.5 Million in cash and properties in Lagos and Abuja have been traced to her.

The officials also said gold, silver and diamond jewellery, worth several million pounds sterling were recovered from one of her residences in Abuja.

Among the properties traced to her are a $37.5m property on Banana Island, Lagos, two apartments valued at $350m also on Banana Island, two properties valued at N1bn in Yaba, Lagos and a N900m property in Port Harcourt – the Rivers State capital.
