The Niger State Police Command has recorded multiple breakthroughs in its fight against crime, with the arrest of suspected assassins, thugs, illegal immigrants, and other offenders across the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a press statement issued in Minna.
According to him, at about 12:45 a.m., a police patrol team in collaboration with vigilante members stationed at Railway Crossing, Beji in Bosso LGA, intercepted two suspects — Muhammad Mohammed (40 years) and Mohammed Usman (35 years), both of Beji.
A search on them led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, a live cartridge, and ₦13,000.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were hired by one Dogo of Beji to assassinate a man around the railway crossing area. They revealed that Dogo initially paid them ₦13,000 as transport and promised an additional ₦100,000 as service charge.
Preliminary investigation indicated that the motive was revenge, as the intended victim had married Dogo’s ex-wife. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend Dogo.

In Minna, operatives attached to the GRA Division arrested two suspected illegal immigrants from Senegal — Saidu Jah (25 years) and Sirinjuf Jibrin (25 years) — following intelligence from the Fadikpe community. The suspects, who only spoke French and could not account for their stay, have been handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service for further action.
