“Chocolate City Is Doing Well, Not Imploding”- Dice Ailes

nigerian music industry, dice ailes, chocolate city, Chocolate City artiste, Dice Ailes, has joined M.I. in reiterating the fact that the music imprint, is not imploding as suggested by many.

Following the exit of ice-prince and rapper, Milli, from the group Chocolate City, the ‘Telephone’ singer told Channels Television that they left amicably and nevertheless, still maintained a good relationship with the record label.

“We’re doing well at Chocolate City, I think it’s just growth. People are pretty much growing and evolving into new things. Ice-prince left but he’s still a part of the family.

“Everybody is doing their own individual thing but we’re still a collective family at the end of the day,” he said.

Highlighting the progress of his career in Nigeria, the performing artiste talked about his latest single, ‘Machinery’. “It is doing pretty well… really accepted by the streets”.

He also mentioned that his new single, ‘Miracle’, featuring Lil Kesh, would drop sometime between late August and early September.

Although, he started performing in Canada, until he was introduced to the Nigerian mainstream music in 2014 by the Chocolate City label, the artist said it was not much of a task.

He has,however, switched his style, to the dominant Nigerian hip-hop, because according to him, he grew up in a typical Nigerian home and listened to typical Nigerian music.

“I like to believe that I’m a very versatile artist. I can band however I choose. So it wasn’t really much of a task.

“I just knew that the Nigerian commercial market wanted to hear a certain thing and I gave it to them with ‘Machinery’,” he said.

Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz Endorse Wizkid, ‘Ayo’

WizkidStar Boy, Wizkid is getting more international recognition as Grammy award winning singers, Alicia keys and her singer/producer husband, Swizz Beatz have endorsed the young star and his latest album, Ayo.

Alicia keys and Swizz Beatz both posted videos of themselves dancing to Wizkid’s Ojuelegba and Caro on their instagram pages, which have a combined followership that’s 4.6 million strong.

Coffee Drops ‘Wata Gbemu’ Video, Features Wande Coal

coffeeThe British-Nigerian soul and afro-pop singer, Coffee, drops a new summer video titled “Wata Gbemu,” which translates to “That Beard” in Hausa.

The track also features R$B singer, Wande Coal.

The visual for the Josh Beatz-produced track was directed by Edith Nwekenta with cameo appearance by Maleek Berry.

Omawumi Releases New Video, Somori

One of Nigeria’s leading female singers, Omawumi, has released a brand new video for her song entitled ‘Somori’ featuring Remy Kays.

The video, which was directed by Aje Films, is a 3:42-minute clip which depicts the ‘Bottom Belle’ crooner as an African queen ruling in the jungle.

Somori, which was delivered in a mix of pidgin English and Yoruba language, was produced by Philkeys and is definitely a new tune from Omawumi as it has a mix of dancehall and afro pop.

Teezee Drops ‘High Roller’ Video

Afro pop singer, Teezee has dropped the video for the song entitled ‘High Roller,’ featuring DRB Lasgidi mate, Boj.

The song was produced by Canada based producer, Yinolu with the help of BOJ (BOTM) mixing Yoruba with street slangs that will have you singing ‘Farabale Farabale’.

The video was directed by Dalia Dias.

New Music: Eveedenz – Take It Low Featuring Skales

Upcoming singer, Eveedenz, born Evans Peterson, has released two new singles, Take It Low, featuring E.M.E signee, Skales.

The dance track, ‘Take it low’ was produced by J Smith.
