Police Arrest 20-Year-Old Suspected Drug Dealer

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Gumel Local Government Area of Jigawa State for allegedly dealing in hard drugs.

The suspect was arrested and paraded on Saturday by the Jigawa State Police Command headquarters in Dutse, Jigawa State capital.

The Public Relation Officer of the Command, Audu Jinjiri, during the parade of the suspect said the arrest is another milestone in the command.

According to him, the suspect was arrested in possession of four blocks of Indian hemp, small wraps of Indian hemp, cannabis, bottles of benelyn and a liquid substance named ‘suck and die.’

The spokesperson said the suspect is being investigated and will be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) upon completion of the investigation.

“We are currently investigating. As soon as we are done, we are going to hand him over to NDLEA,” he said.

The suspect who spoke in local Hausa dialect said, he regrets his action and begged for pardon.

“I have made a mistake in engaging in this business. I used to be a tailor. If I am pardoned, I’ll not go back to selling drugs,” he said.

Abia Police Arrest Fake Vehicle Number Plate Vendor, Indian Hemp Dealers

The Abia State Command of the Nigerian Police has arrested a man who specialises in issuing  fake vehicle plate numbers as well as two men in possession of three drums filled with illicit drugs known to be Indian hemp.

Charles Ubani was arrested for printing out fake vehicle number plates bearing the same serial numbers to people.

However, he fell into the hands of the law when he was invited by the men of Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) at Umuika in Isialangwa after the vehicle of a man who he issued out fake number plate was impounded.

A 60 year old drug dealer, Ezechi Ikechi Abiri, who had been in the trade for two years was also arrested. The pastor of his church, Tony Ajuma, was also involved in the case as he had kept the illegal substance at his home.

However, before he could remove the drugs from the pastor’s house, the police arrested him after a tip off.

Briefing journalists in Umuahia, Commissioner of Police, Tilli Abubakar disclosed that both arrests were made after a tip off. He further solicited for information from the public which would help them in making Abia State crime free.

Tilli warned all criminals to stay clear of the state especially as the ember months approaches hinting that his men are on red alert to deal decisively with any act that is capable of truncating the peace and tranquility in the State.

 

Guards Bridgade Parades Alleged Terrorist And Drug Dealer

The Guards Brigade command of the Nigerian Army has paraded two suspects said to be a terrorist and drug dealer.

The commanding officer  workshop of the  Guards Brigade; Lieutenant  Colonel  Adeyinka  Adereti  who briefed journalists in Abuja  said the first suspect, Mohammed Taheed who was found loitering around an  army checkpoint in Abaji  attempted to disarm  one of the soldiers before he was overpowered.

The second suspect one Adamu Mohammed was apprehended with a J5 vehicle laden with ninety- three bags of cannabis otherwise known as Indian hemp.

Both men denied doing anything wrong.
