Kaffy Mad At Davido For Firing Dancers At 3-Thrones

kaffy, davido, 3 ThronesPopular Nigerian Dancer, Kaffy, is mad at Davido and has taken to social media in the early hours of Wednesday, to hurl insults at the singer for firing some dancers.

According to her, after agreeing to work with them and after several weeks of practice, they were about to take the stage when he fired them.

This took place on Sunday, at the 3-Thrones event in Lagos, headlined by King of the east, Phyno, the money King, Davido and the Queen Tiwa Savage.

“Disrespecting Dancers”

Majority of the artists thrilled fans with their performances, but Davido’s actions have earned him some unfriendly reactions from Kaffy.

In the video post she expressed her anger, while also accusing some other Nigerian artists of “disrespecting dancers” in the caption.

It read: “Enough is enough!!! It’s alright if artiste don’t need us. We are artistes ourselves . It is very disrespectful for you to look down at and trample on people who in one way or the other contribute to where u are today. Dance is our widow’s mite to a lot of your careers .

“All u need to do is respect us. Even other people under you suffer your arrogance from stylist to band men. This message is for those of you that disrespectfully disregard us dancers especially.

“@davidoofficial if u don’t want dancers express it way before you agree to allow them dance than when you are about to climb the stage u decide you don’t need us again.or tell dancers not to come near you while you perform.

“It’s not your fault. We have learnt our lesson and we thank arrogant artiste like you as this will not continue for long. Nowadays artiste take a piss. People pay a lot of money to see you come out and give a good show it requires more than you jumping all over the place with no content.

“Even some artiste in other countries who perform alone still plan their craft. They practice they rehearse the are never tired of doing better than their last. But here most don’t care only few like @peterpsquare and @rudeboypsquare @2niteflavour @tiwasavage @efya_nokturnal @iamseyishay @dareydarey even @jidenna a one man performer plans his craft for his fans. (this is to mention a few out of the few)”.

Although she was not directly involved in the case, the veteran dancer, however, took it upon herself to defend the other dancers who apparently look up to her, as she is an inspiration to all aspiring dancers.

I’m Open To A Relationship If I Meet The Right Guy – Beverly Naya

Beverly NayaNigeria’s beautiful actress, Berverly Naya, says that having realised on time that there was more to her as an actor, embracing the Nigerian movie industry has given her the best platform to launch her career.

Beverly, who has lived all her life in the United Kingdom before relocating to Nigeria, said that there was not much going on in the British movie and theatre industry and this led to her decision to kick-start her career in Nigeria.

She explained she quickly noticed that, because of her race, there were risks of being stereotyped into acting only some of the usual roles reserved for black actors – ghetto girl.

Although she admitted that relocating to Nigeria was a daring move, especially considering she had never lived in the country, and did not have the Nigerian accent, she said that she had her mind made up once she graduated from school.

Her British accent, according to her, hasn’t been much of a challenge because she had prepared very well for Nollywood before stepping into it.

To buttress this, she revealed that she recently played the role of a village girl in a yet to be released 200million naira budget Nigerian movie, which stars Omotola Ekehinde and other notable Nigerian actors.

Miss Naya, who has also joined the league of actors on popular TV soap, Tinsel, also provided clarifications on her real name, origin and ties to Delta State Nigeria.

Naya, expectedly, has been linked to a number of young and single men in the Nigerian entertainment industry; like pop singer, Flavour and TV show host, Uti Nwachukwu.

Of Flavour, she maintained a well publicised comment that she had never met him in person and being linked to him was laughable.

For Uti, she explained that they had been good friends and being seen together at an event led to the rumours, as fans assumed that there was more to their casual relationship.

Speaking about her several handsome co-actors on Tinsel, she said, “I’m not really looking for a husband on Tinsel” despite her on-screen romance with Tinsel star, Gideon Okeke, whom she refereed to as a good friend.

I am single at the moment and if I meet the right guy, then who knows…I’m open to a relationship if I meet the right guy but for now, I am (only) going on dates,” she said.

’50 Shades of Black’ is a project very dear to Beverly. It is targeted at inspiring young black women to believe more in themselves and be proud of themselves, no matter the colour of their skin.

She has been speaking to young ladies in schools and other places on the need to have a better view of themselves.

She recently had several celebrities support the vision by writing different inspirational messages to young people in line with the vision.

A new documentary film by Beverly Naya is also being produced and this would further propagate the message of the ’50 Shades of Black’.

Reviewing 2013: It’s Been A Year Of Endorsements In Entertainment – Areh

The CEO of Wildflower PR, Omah Areh, has rated the Nigerian entertainment industry to have done very well during the year 2013.

Areh was a guest on the last edition of Rubbin’ Minds on Channels Television for the year, where she did a review of happenings during the year.

According to her, Nigerian musicians took their acts to the next level in 2013, considering how many of them had tours in foreign countries, most especially in Europe and North America.

Citing examples like P-Square, Iyanya, Flavour, Davido and many others, she said that the most notable part of this is not that they performed abroad, but that many of their concert tickets sold out, with massive crowds coming to watch them.

She also noted that the industry is now taken more seriously by Corporate Nigeria, as brands are appreciating the fact that there are a lot of things to be part of in the industry.

With telecom companies leading the pack, she commended the involvement of many local businesses in the industry; she said “It was a year of endorsements”. Afeez Oyetoro, popularly called Saka and his highly celebrated switch between two giant telecom brands was cited as example of the fact that brands have really taken the industry serious.

She added that at a point it looked like there were no more artistes without an endorsement deal. The artistes are now seen as brands themselves and companies are happy to identify with them as ambassadors.

She noted that the implication of this development is that more of these artistes now have better funds to invest in their careers and this has added to the quality of work being churned out from Nigeria.

“There are also more concerts” according to her, with singer, Dare’s ‘Love Like A Movie’ concert among the most eye catching in 2013.

She also noted that, beautiful actress, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde, being named by TIME Magazine among the world’s Top 100 influential people shows how much the entertainment industry grew in 2013.

There were expressions of hope that someday, concerts in Nigeria would be even greater with arenas fully packed with everyone standing.

On the gloomy side, the many deaths of Nigerian entertainers put a dent on Areh’s many reasons to celebrate the industry, especially with many of them being young people. Fatai Rolling Dollar, Justus Esiri, Goldie Havie, were among those mentioned with singer, Goldie’s drawing a lot of attention becasue she passed on at a time when she was just gaining prominence.

The industry also saw many weddings in 2013 but there were many crashed marriages too according to Areh. However she thinks that is nothing to frown about.

She advised that the art of peeping into people’s private lives is catching on in Nigeria because people find it amusing to see the privacy of their celebrities. She therefore expects that more Nigerian stars would take a cue from the likes of American superstar, Beyoncé (who shot a documentary of herself) and embrace the global trend of celebrity reality shows in 2014.
