Afro-pop music star, JJC Skillz has dismissed rumours of a romantic relationship with actress Kate Henshaw after pictures from a music video shoot went viral on social media.
The singer, speaking with Entertainment News, explained that his relationship with the actress is strictly professional.
In a telephone chat, the “We Are Africans” crooner explained that the music video for ‘See Us Now’ is “basically about Nigeria; about the future I see for Nigeria and how I feel things should be and would be”.
Asked if there’s a special attachment to Kate Henshaw as she makes a second appearance in his music video, JJC Skillz said “a lot of people think so”.
He revealed they first met on the set of the music video shoot for his song African Skank, where she did “amazingly well” and “since then (obviously) we’ve been friends”.
He also heard the actress sing the National Anthem at an event and was “blown away by her vocal ability”, which was when he invited her to the studio for a recording session on the song “See Us Now”.

HEAR WORD is an exhilarating performance art production which would showcase true stories of triumph from 20 different Nigerian women.
The production would combine artistry, social commentary and true-life stories of transformation delivered by some of Nigeria’s best known and most talented actresses. Fafunwa said “These superb actresses offer us an intimate view into the lives of women from all walks of life as the monologues shine a light on the hidden part of each woman’s soul. I believe that this play will stimulate discussion as well as warm and sadden the heart.”
The play, scheduled to show on various stages in May, 2014 in Lagos and Abuja, will take the personal stories of women from all walks of life, all corners of Nigeria, and weave them together to create a tapestry of truth. “HEAR WORD is a place where the highest quality of performance art comes together to express the potential of Nigerian women; it is a celebration of the Nigerian woman to be shared with the world, as the characters reveal themselves, you may recognise your sister, your mother, your friend, your wife and perhaps even yourself” Fafunwa added.
Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has presented her Pictorial autobiography titled ‘Kate Henshaw: The World of an Actress, My Story’ to the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Mrs. Obioma Liyel-Imoke.
Making the presentation at Mrs. Imoke’s office in Calabar, Kate disclosed that the 360-page book is her contribution to efforts aimed at supporting certain charities.
According to her, part of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to charities and most especially little Miss. Kiki whom she said was born without a skull and presently on admission at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States of America.
The governor’s wife who promised to support Kate Henshaw’s course also called on the public to contribute to Kate’s humanitarian gesture by buying a copy of the book which is currently on sale in the open market.
The much awaited movie produced and directed by Rita Dominic and Mildred Okwo premiered on Friday at the grand ball room of the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
Gracing the occasion were the Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, representatives from the Vice-President, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa amongst other dignitaries
Also on the role call were Nollywood actresses and actors including Genevieve Nnaji, Ego Boyo, Iretiola Doyle, Joke Silva and many others.
Some Nigerian artistes including Tuface Idibia, Tiwa Savage, Waje, Lami Philips and Weird MC also graced the occasion. The movie starred Kate Henshaw, Chinedu Ikedieze, Jide Kosoko, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Tariah Basorge Jnr, Femi Jacobs, Bankole Kehinde, Rita Dominic and many others.
The storyline is about a Lagos-based corporate executive, Makinde Esho who works for The Audrey Silva Company(TASC) and finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, trying to adapt to the culture and routine, falls in love with a youth corp member when he embarked on a one day business trip to Abuja to secure a government contract.
