Over 100 People Starve To Death In Somalia

idpsDisplaced persons at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the Durumi area of Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, say they have been abandoned by the government.

According to them, the government has not lived up to its responsibility of taking care of their welfare.

They said agencies of government had been making life more difficult for them, raiding and extorting them, while threatening to evict them from where they had taken refuge.

The IDPs appealed to the government to liberate the communities and make them safe enough for them to return home to rebuild what was left of their lives .

One of the displaced persons, Ester Tanko, narrated her ordeals, explaining how she managed a one room shelter with her husband and six children.

They want the government to do more, to end the insurgency and make their villages safe enough to return home .
