police-on suspectsThe Yobe State Police Command has paraded three syndicates believed to be engaged in the printing and sales of fake police recruitment forms in the state.

Parading the suspects before journalists in Damaturu the state capital, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Toyin Gbadegesin, said the command had earlier got a tip-off of the activities of the syndicates and subsequently cautioned the public through local media to disregard any recruitment form as being circulated.

The action according to him contravenes Section  97 (364) of the Penal Code Law of Nigeria and the suspects will be charged to court after due investigation to serve as deterrent to others.

One of the suspects, Mohammed Kabir, while narrating his side of the story said as a cyber-operator, he is prone to printing various forms to different categories of people on request.

He noted that some job seekers came to him with the website address, which he ignorantly went to the site and printed the said form and two days after, he was arrested.

The suspect said he is not aware of any earlier announcement made on local media cautioning printing and sales of the recruitment form.
