The Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed, has allayed the fear of reduction of minimum wage for civil servants in the state.

The governor at a function in Ilorin, the state capital, said despite the lean purse of the state government, the wages of civil servants will not be slashed.

He however announced the plan to introduce Contributory Pension Scheme in the state, as the current financial challenges will not allow the state to be the sole contributor again.

The governor had earlier presented the state budget with an estimate of over 1.1 billion Naira.

The estimate is a decrease of over 1.5 billion Naira  above the 2015 revised appropriation which represents 1.3% decrease.
