The group made this appeal to INEC ahead of the January 9 supplementary governorship election in Bayelsa State, in order to guarantee the safety of the electorate.
The Coordinator of the group, Mr Daudy Eze, made the call while addressing a news conference on Tuesday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
Mr Eze said that there was need for INEC to check the activities of unknown gunmen who might want to disrupt the supplementary election coming up on Saturday.
The group also appealed to the Federal Government to set up a panel of inquiry to probe the reported killings of Nigerians during the December governorship election.
They also asked the government to reduce the presence of military personnel during the supplementary election.
