The twenty two victims that died in the collapsed building of St Robert’s Catholic Mission Adamgbe in Vandeikya Local Government area of Benue State; North Central Nigeria were committed to mother earth amid tears and sorrow by relations and friends.

The sad event happened when pillars supporting the church building had suddenly given way and caused the building to collapse Easter holy service.

Adamgbe which is about 10 kilometers from Vandeikya on the Makurdi-Obudu highway had Auxiliary bishop of catholic diocese of Makurdi, most Reverend William Avenya was on ground to conduct the service where he also observed that death is an inevitable end as the victims paid the supreme price with their lives while offering prayers for the peace of the nation during the Easter holy service and as such deserved a befitting burial and remembrance.

The Benue state governor who was represented by his deputy, Chief Steven Lawani reinstated Benue state government’s promise of reconstruction of the collapsed building as well as the road network linking the community.
