Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Health, Honourable Ndudi Elumelu, has said that the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) must be amended to ensure that Nigerians have a qualitative health insurance policy.

He stated this while speaking at the public hearing on an act to repeal the NHIS Act of 1999 and enact a National Health Insurance Commission bill.

Most of the participants who spoke at the event were in support of the amendment.
