Bayelsa Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has ordered a 15 percent cut in salaries of all political appointees serving the state government.

According to the government “the government is determined to make the necessary sacrifice to better the lives of ordinary Bayelsans.”

The governor made this known while swearing in 16 special advisers to his cabinet at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yenagoa.

Describing the appointees as chains which the links must be strong to enable the team achieve the aim of its establishment, Governor Dickson charged them to consider themselves as team players and not as sect commanders.

He congratulated and welcomed them into his administration.
