The House of Representatives on Wednesday stepped down a motion seeking to privatise the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited, NITEL.
The motion which was sponsored by Honourable Chris Azubogu said that the delay in the sale of the company has led to monumental loss of funds and job opportunities for Nigerians.
Some members of the lower house of the national assembly who made contributions on the motion said that what the nation requires now is not how to raise funds from the sale of the telecoms company but how to make the company more viable to meet the needs of many Nigerians craving for cheaper means of communication.
