The Super Eagles of Nigeria will today test their footballing wits against the Seleccio Catalana of Catalonia in an international friendly warm up match ahead of the 2013 African Nations Cup.

He match, one of two friendlies organized by the NFF to prepare the Eagles for the African championships will be played in Barcelona at the Estadi Cornellà-El Prat.

The Johan Cruff tutored Basque side has named a star-studded team to face Nigeria. Barcelona’s Victor Valdes, Carles Puyol, Sergio Busquets, Gerrad Pique and Jordi Alba are all included in the squad.

Also included are Barcelona youngster Cristian Tello, former La Masia prodigy Bojan Krkic and Jonathan Soriano.

Xavi Hernandez and Joan Capdevilla have also been named in the squad.

Coach Stephen Keshi named a pool of foreign and local players in his provisional squad for the Nations Cup with notable omissions of star strikers Obafemi Martins and Osaze Odemwingie but remains adamant his team is capable of surviving without the duo.

While Keshi is down playing a revenge factor a win for the West Africans would go along way in helping shape their confidence for Afcon 2013.

In the first-ever meeting the Seleccio Catalana thumped the Super Eagles 5-0 at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys on December 22, 1998.
