Abia State Government has donated security vans equipped with communication gadgets to the Nigerian Army to sustain security and maintain peace in the state especially in the rural areas.

Governor Theodore Orji while handing over the keys of the vehicles to the commander, 14 brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, at the government house Umuahia said the vehicles would assist them to fight crime in Abariba axis and it’s environs as requested by the donors a financial bank.

He  commend the commandant for their effort in maintsing security and urged him to ensure that child trafficking does not raise its in the state having  curb to look into another type of crime rate which is fast eaten and assured the army of government continuous support to ensure that Abia state us crime free.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Nigerian Army, the commander, 14 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Ohafia, Brig Gen. Jubrin Tanko Abubakar thanked the governor for his logistic support and proactive steps in enhancing security in the state and assured him that there will be zero tolerance to all acts of criminality in the state.

He however appealed to the governor to assist the Nigerian Army in the establishment of FOB for soldiers for an effective command and control of Abariba and neighboring villages.
