The Special Task Force Commander in charge of Plateau State, Major General Henry Ayoola, has called for a larger disarmament programme as a means to curtail the proliferation of small arms and ammunition.
General Ayoola, who was speaking in Abuja, noted that the situation in plateau state is gradually returning to normal.
He also added that the STF has continued to ensure that they recover weapons in its effort to sustain the peace in the state.
He however says that his men are also employing series of programmes that will lead to voluntary surrender of weapons but warned that the STF will not spare anyone found with weapons illegally.
