Former Nigerian International and coach of the Super Eagles; Austin Eguavoen has secured a coaching deal with a National league side; COD United FC (City of David) and he will be there as the assitant coach of the team.

The former Sharks of Port Harcourt coach signed the new deal yesterday with a goal that COD United moves to the Nigeria Premier league Division by the next season.

Eguavoen is expected to begin work next week.

Austin Eguavoen has however confirmed the appointment as the head coach of the club presently sitting on the 4th position of the Nigeria National League table.

Eguavoen said it is love and passion for the game of football that prompted him into taking the job and the goal of advancing to the Nigeria Premier League division by the next season is very possible with the discipline and professionalism present in the club.

Reports say Eguavoen will stay with the white lions till the end of the 2012/2013 season with an option of renewal.

Eguavoen replaced Bode Awakan who was relieved of his job due to strings of unimpressive results.

Chief executive of the club, Shola Opaleye said Eguavoen resumes duties next week as assistant coach, while Solomon Mannasseh will take charge of COD United’s game away to Abia Warriors this weekend.
