Some of the major players that the country has hung hope on to qualify for the 2014 World Cup and also do the country proud in next month’s Confederations Cup may not answer the national call after all.A major setback has plagued the Super Eagles set up as of today as Victor Moses will not be available and so is Kalu Uche.

Nigeria will be filing out against Kenya June 5, and Namibia some days later in the Brazil 2014 qualifiers, as well as in the international friendly with Mexico in Houston, Texas USA on May 31.

According a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ademola Olajire, Moses will not be answering the national call against Kenya or that of the Confederations Cup due to recurring injury even as Chelsea confirmed also that Moses will be going with the team to the United States for the club’s pre-season tour not to play games but to be monitored by the club doctors.

Moses was one of the best players of the Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa where Nigeria became African champions after the title eluded the Eagles severally.

Uche also claimed to have been playing with injury since the beginning of the last season and according to his doctors, the player whose performance was superb this season with his Trukish club, Kasimpasa, said he was acting on the advice of his doctor to undergo treatment during the off- season and rest afterwards.

Displeased with the dying minute information coming from the players after plans had been concluded around them, Stephen Keshi said he could have been informed of the developments earlier but shrugged off the disappointment, saying the country had players who could equally get the World Cup ticket for Nigeria and also do well in the Confederations Cup.
