The House of Representatives has condemned the killing of seventy people in Langtang south local government of Plateau state and called for a federal government panel to address the growing incidences of attacks in the area by nomadic herdsmen.

Representative Beni Lar, who raised the motion in plenary, questioned the role of the special task force that are stationed in the area on the incessant attacks plaguing the zone.

Noting that there has been an upsurge of killings in that area, the House has also mandated its committee on defence to check the activities of the special task force in Langtang north/ south local governments of Plateau state.

It would be recalled that a group of Fulani herdsmen last week stormed three villages in Langtang south local government area of the state, burnt down the villages and killed innocent people before they ran away.

It was learnt that no fewer than 70 bodies of those killed by the marauders had been recovered and the 7,000 displaced persons are now residing at different public schools in the area with the chunk of them at LGEA Pilot Central Primary School, Mabudi in the local government area.
