A legal practitioner, Obhafuoso Robert on Tuesday described the warning message sent by INEC chairman, Attahiru Jega to politicians not to overheat the polity as an “advice” noting that “it is best the politicians recognize and take to that advice in the interest of everybody (country, peace and development)”.
He berated the complaining attitude of Nigerian politicians and further insisted that the INEC chairman sounded the warning at the right time. He said the warning carries a holistic perspective but expressed surprise at the complaints being made by the politicians adding that “you will always have complaints from politicians anyway”.
He went historical to claim that “Nigeria has always been governed by the military” adding that “we last had proper order in this country in 1966 or 19965”.
He alleged that the constitution as it is, is highly flawed, and cannot guarantee the order needed to create peace and development.
