Vincent Enyeama.Super Eagles of Nigeria’s stand-in captain and first choice goal keeper, Vincent Enyeama, has won the best player award in French Ligue 1 for the month of November.

Enyeama received 59 per cent of the votes to beat Paris Saint Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic who got 32 per cent of the votes to finish runner-up. Olympique Marseille’s midfielder, Florian Thauvin, was third in the overall standings winning just nine per cent of the votes.

This is the second successive month the 31-year old is winning the award after coming close to breaking Gaetan Huard’s record of clean sheets in Ligue 1.

During the 1992/1993 season with Bordeaux, Huard set a goalkeeping record of playing 1,176 minutes without conceding a goal.

Enyeama, who has been on superb form, kept 12 straight clean sheets recording 1,062 minutes before conceding a goal in Lille’s  0-1 defeat to Girondins Bordeaux at the Stade Jacques Chaban-Delmas on match day 17.

That is the closest anyone has come to in equaling Huard’s goalkeeping record.

The former Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper has conceded six goals in just four of the club’s 18 league games this season.
