The Nigerian Police have arrested three suspects for impersonating the United Nations.

The three suspects, Micheal Abraham, Lemmy Odogwu and Innocent Prosper, were accused of running an illegal charity organisation and using same to extort money from innocent Nigerians.

Force Public Relations Officer, Mister Frank Mba, told a media conference that the suspects were fraudsters who use foreign organizations as a front to make their illegality appear genuine.

Operating under the name of a recruitment syndicate known as the Universal Response and Support Foundation, they claimed to be working for the United Nations in Nigeria.

The Police said that the group had extorted the sum of 7 million Naira from Nigerians.

However, one of the suspects, Michael Abraham claimed that they have no intention of impersonating the United Nations in their operations.

Though, the Police are yet to conclude investigation on the matter, the Force is advising job seekers to always ask questions from authorities before committing their funds into such venture.
