vlcsnap-2014-04-29-12h11m48s158A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Moyosore Onigbanjo has said that most of the delegates in the national conference have descended to taking some of the issues personal.

His comment is coming just a day after two committees of the conference rejected the idea of state police.

Mr Onigbajo suggested that at the end of the conference, recommendations that would be taken should be done by consensus and not by voting before sending same to the committee for approval.

On Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, on Tuesday, Mr Onigbanjo suggested that instead of delegates having disagreement, each delegates should bring up ideas in groups. This he said would enable them  discuss the issues affecting the nation appropriately before presenting same to the committee.

He mentioned that issues of ethnicity, tribe, religion has gone to the fore which seems to perimeter why certain people were there to protect their tribe or religions, pointing out that if there is no law and order in the way things are done, all the protections will fall into pieces.

He further noted that there was a lot of tribal differences amongst the delegates which he said was not good for the progress of the nation.

Mr Onigbanjo cautioned that the conference should not be an ethnic thing and called on delegates to come to a compromise.

“Rather thank carrying an ethnic interest at heart, why don’t i say; is this in the interest of the nation? The good of the nation is the good of all,” he stated.
