Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole has described the attack on the legislative quarters in Benin City, the state’s capital, as a dangerous ploy by some people in the state to make it ungovernable.

Governor Oshiomhole made the statement on Saturday at the premises of the quarters during an on-the-spot assessment tour of the quarters.

The governor arrived at the scene of the attack hours after the attack by the unknown hoodlums left about 30 cars destroyed and the building riddled with bullets.

After the attack, some of the lawmakers told Channels Television that the gunmen came in the morning, over-powered the security men at the premises gates to gain access.

They said the hoodlums attempted to gain entrance into some of the houses with an obvious intent to kill, as they were shooting sporadically in the air and at the buildings.

There have been factional crises in the State’s House of Assembly.

It started after four lawmakers were suspended for gross misconduct and other allegations.
