The Nigerian President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday, declared his intention to run for the second term in office on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He told a large crowd at the Eagles Square in Abuja, the nation’s capital city, that his government would continue to place priority on the fight against terror, promising to equip the military to ensure that the Chibok girls are freed.
He also lamented the unfortunate killing of over 40 school children by suicide bomber at Potiskum, Yobe State.
He said that 60 million Naira has been set aside for the rehabilitation of victims of terror in the north east part of the country.
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan also reminded the large crowd that under his watch as President the nation’s economy has been repositioned.
The power sector reforms, he said, was in progress as Nigeria remains on the firm path of achieving regular power supply.
He called on all Nigerians to remain united as his party, the PDP, would continue to provide the country qualitative administration.
